From the File is a non-fiction history podcast. Each season is one documentary in about ten chapters — one declassified operation. Episodes run about twenty minutes. Season 1 covers the Bay of Pigs.

Every historical claim is still traced to a cited declassified document. The files are real; we do not invent archives or fake citations.
Hosts Elliot and Nora are AI-voiced. Research, scripting, voices, and assembly use AI; editorial judgment stays human.
Seasons published before we offer paid audio stay free. Season 1 is free to keep. If we later sell a season pass or VIP pass, that will apply only to seasons released after the paywall starts. Show notes and citations stay public.
Method
The show is the friction between layers of the record — not a dramatized retelling. No invented dialogue or scenes. Contemporaneous papers are never merged with later histories. Redactions stay. Every claim is cited.
Hosts
Two hosts, two jobs: Elliot reads the operational and contemporaneous record — what happened, what the Agency wrote at the time. Nora reads the later record — investigations, official histories, contradictions, and redactions. They are not reversed.

Each episode page is a sourced essay with full citations (titles, dates, record numbers, Reading Room pointers) and a short section on what the files do not settle. That essay is the same substance as the show notes that ship with the audio.
